#64 Zach Strief's Dream Big Foundation and Phil's Grill raise funds for CASA!

Hammond, January 7, 2010: Phil’s Grill is celebrating the Saints march to the Super Bowl by co-hosting a fundraiser for CASA along with Saints Offensive Tackle #64 Zach Strief called Give the Linemen some Love. Zach Strief created the Dream Big Foundation that serves to enrich the lives of children in our community. The Dream Big Foundation has pledged to match Phil’s Grill’s contribution to CASA. Zach has created Phil’s Grill’s January Burger of the Month “#64 Eligible.” Phil’s Grill will donate the proceeds from each “#64 Eligible” sold. Guests can vote for “Their Favorite Saints Linemen of All Time.” The offensive line candidates include- Jim Dombrowski, Stan Brock, Willie Roaf and Brad Edelman. All ballot donations ($1 per vote) will be donated to CASA. Ballots will be randomly drawn at the end of the month for prizes including a tour of the Saints training facility, dinner at Phil's Grill with Zach Strief and autographed Saints pennants, footballs and aprons.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) recruits, trains and supervises everyday citizens who serve as powerful voices for abused and neglected children as they navigate through the court system. CASA’s report to the judge and others in the child welfare system on the child’s behalf with the primary goal of helping them reach a safe and permanent home.

Zach Strief, co-host of the fundraiser said, “We are honored to partner with Phil's Grill and to be able to help the amazing children and volunteers associated with CASA. While we know that everyone will enjoy the "#64 Eligible" burger, we ultimately hope that the partnership will create awareness surrounding the great efforts of CASA.” "I am really humbled to partner with Zach and Mandy. "St. Andrew's Mission Shuffle to the Chefs"

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

“We are seeing a compassion boom. Because there are so many people struggling now, and so many are neighbors, people are more willing than ever to reach out to others. ”These words were spoken by the President for the Corporation for National Community Service and they ring true in our community.  While we might fret about the future, Southwest Mississippians are cited as being one of the most giving areas of our country.  St. Andrew’s Mission has done an outstanding job of serving our neighbors since 1997. As you might know, one hundred percent of the money we give to St. Andrews stays right here helping our neighbors. From the “free” health clinic staffed by volunteer physicians and G.E.D. classes to help make a stronger work force to S.A.M.’s Diner feeding the hungry and the Senior Center to be opened this coming year, St. Andrew’s offers support to people in need. These are just a few of the ten plus ministries provided by St. Andrews Mission. St. Andrews Mission, helping meet the needs of citizens in the Counties and Parishes in our region, operates Thrift Stores in McComb, Brookhaven, Natchez, and Hammond.

“Shuffle to the Chefs” was a tremendous success the past couple of years and we expect this year’s event to be even better! We have 8 great chefs lined up-- Parker Voss & Mary Grace Moss, The Caboose, McComb; Ken Dixon, Mitchell’s, Brookhaven; Doyle Orlando, Jacmel, Hammond; Anthony Delpidio, Cocoa-Bean Bakery, Hammond; Paul Brock, retired Chef, McComb; Christian Amelot, U S Foods Chef; Richard Brown, VIP Grand Events Chef; Regina Charboneau, Twin Oaks, Natchez. These talented individuals will be stationed at the homes on tour that evening of Dr. and Mrs. Jay Sanders, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sanders and Mr. and Mrs. Chip Gibbes. Save the date Thursday, January 28, 2010, and plan to begin your evening at beautiful Lott Furniture Company on Anna Drive, cComb. Motorcoaches will transport you from Lott Furniture to tour the lovely homes mentioned above, all in the city of McComb, where you will experience the food and drink and enjoy the social fun of the evening. Motorcoaches will continuously shuttle etween Lott Furniture and the host homes.
